Where to stay in Koh Rong
Koh Rong is the biggest of the islands and probably a backpackers paradise. There is more than 20 different beaches at the Island, and the atmosphere is really different from beach to beach. Koh Toch is the main pier and beach, and here is plenty of party hostels and fun bars side by side, as well as party cruises to join during the day and the evening.

It is possible to live in a bungalow, or a more budget-friendly tent located directly on the beach, with a fan and mattress inside.
Where to stay in Koh Rong Samloem
Koh Samloem is a more underdeveloped Island and it is smaller than Koh Rong. It also has more than a few different beaches to stay at, and it is possible to go from one side of the Island to the other by crossing through the jungle in the middle of the Island. This Island has the clearest blue water and lots of hammocks and swings along the white beaches. You can find many bungalows directly on the beach, where you can wake up to the most amazing view over the sea.
What to do there
There is not much to do on the Islands, so for some people it will be enough with a few days – but if you like to relax, swim, snorkle, do watersport and party, then you can spend a lot time on the Islands. If you like adventure, there is also an adventure park at Koh Rong with ziplines etc. to have fun in.
Tips for Koh Rong backpackers
Before you go to one of the Islands, be sure you know which beach you will like to go to. Koh Rong is a large Island, and so are Koh Rong Samloem, and most boats will just drop you off at the main pier, and then you will be stuck paying a lot for a longtail or taxiboat to the other side of the Island. So be sure that you are taking a boat from Sihanoukville that goes to the right beach.
