Tukad Cepung waterfall is located in the southeast of Bangli in Bali, Indonesia.
How to get to Tukad Cepung Waterfall
Another opportunity is going there by Taxi which is more expensive but still quite cheap. Once you’re there and payed a small fee at the entry, you need to hike about 30-40 minutes to reach the well hidden waterfall.
It is necessary to climb around huge rocks to reach this beautiful natural sight which makes it not only absolutely beautiful but also quite adventurous.
I combined the journey to the waterfall with cruising along the beautiful rice fields in Bali with my scooter. This is simply the best way to get around the whole island: cheap, easy, fun and giving the opportunity to get to know to Bali’s nature, culture and locals who are always happy to help you finding your way, just switch your phone off and talk to them!
You have to pay about 3000 Rupiah (about 0,30$) to enter the area. This should be the only cents you have to pay except of transportation costs and food.
It is not necessary to book a tour to Tukad Cepung and I think it is not even possible because this waterfall is an absolutely secret tip, I spent there about 5 hours without meeting anybody else!
Where to stay
You can reach Tukad Cepung from any part of Bali.
I stayed in Ubud, an inspiring and spiritual place which I will never forget. I can highly recommend Wayans Family Homestay, run by a very welcoming family offering delicious free banana pancakes every morning!
How much time do you need at Tukad Cepung Waterfall
This trip can be a half- or full day trip, depends on how much time you have! I experienced that time flies here as not only the waterfall but also the surrounding is absolutely lovely.
Take a shower under the waterfall, enjoy a picknick on top of the huge rocks, swing with the lianas hanging down to the earth through the jungle-like area or start a yoga session to feel the freedom!
When is the best time to visit Tukad Cepung
There are no crowds you have to avoid, so you can just choose the time you want to go there. I went here in the beginning of April with a few rain drops from time to time. However the weather put this place in an even more magic light!
Why should Tukad Cepung Waterfall be on my bucket list ?
Tukad Cepung is a must see during your stay in Bali! It leads you away from the touristy spots deeper into the rural Indonesia! Riding your scooter, you will pass Bali’s beautiful rice fields and many small indonesian villages with very welcoming and friendly people always trying to help!
Finding the waterfall is a little adventure itself including a bit hiking and passing massive rocks that reveal an impressive landscape: Tukad Cepung Waterfall, a hidden, charming and absolutely beautiful place!
