Ciudad Perdida, also known as ‘The Lost City’, is a city that was built by the Tayrona in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. The Lost City Colombia is believed to be founded about 800 CE, making it 650 years older than Machu Picchu in Peru.

How to get to The Lost City Colombia
To reach Ciudad Perdida you need to go on an organised tour with guides. The organised tours starts in Santa Marta and you can choose to use 4,5 or 6 days, depending on what suits you best.
You can get there by foot or by riding a donkey.
The Lost City Colombia Price
The price depends on the organization, but the price will be around 280-300 USD.
Because you are going with an organization, everything is already planned for you. You don’t have to pay for anything anymore except for the water you’ll need during the walk.
Where to stay
You are staying in a sort of camp, which is the property of the indigenous people who live there. You are staying at this place for about 4-6 days, but most people do the hiking tour in 4 days.
When to do the Lost City Colombia Trek
You can do the hiking tour during the entire year, but you must know that there’s probably more rain in the rainy season. So the water in the rivers will be higher and it will be more difficult to walk through.
