Khlong Chak Waterfall is a beautiful waterfall in the jungle of Koh Lanta. The Khlong Chak Waterfall is located on the south tip of Koh Lanta and you need to hike through the jungle to reach it.

How to get to Khlong Chak Waterfall

There is no need for a guide to reach Khlong Chak Waterfall. Drive a car / scooter to the entrance and follow the signs. The signs starts at the beginning of the trail and then you just follow the river. The hike is between 20-30 minutes depending on your stamina and tempo.

Keep to the left and the path will take you to the Khlong Chak Cave. There you will most likely see bats.

Take the path on the right hans side when you reach the waterfall to reach the top. On the top of the waterfall you will find a private swimming pool, well with the extra 2 minute hike.

Khlong Chak Waterfall Price

Parking: 20 Baht parking for scooters / 40 Baht for cars.

There is a shop at the entrance where you can buy water for 15 Baht.

When to visit Khlong Chak Waterfall

The best time to visit the Khlong Chak Waterfall is during the rainy season (May to October) because of the water level. On the other hand, the best time to visit Ko Lanta is during the dry season (November to April).

Visit the waterfall early in the morning to beat both the hot weather and other tourist. If you go later than 4pm it could be too dark on the way back.




What to do there

The hike to Khlong Chak Waterfall is in many ways more spectacular than the waterfall. On the hike you can see wild monkeys, turtles, bats, butterflies, as well as the beautiful forest.

Walking slowly, appreciating the nature and take a bath in the waterfall before you head back.

Tips

  • Don’t walk in FlipFlops. Bring good shoes.
  • Bring water. (You can buy water and ice cream at the parking area)
  • Protect yourself from mosquito bites
  • Ask a locals about the water lever at the waterfall
  • Don’t ride the elephants.
