How to get to the Banos Swing

Hike: Hike up to La Casa del Arbol. It is a pretty steep and exhausting hike, but on the way up you can enjoy the spectacular nature.

We did not want to do the touristic version and take a bus which drops you off there and that’s it. We wanted adventure and thats what we got. Not a single soul was met on our way up there. The views are breathtaking which if you travel by bus you don’t get.

You need around 4 hours with trekking and your time up at the Casa del Arbol and getting down by bus to the city of Banos. Getting up there costs only 1$ which is the best invested dollar ever!!! A must do !

Bus: Take the bus from Banos.  Price: USD$ 8.50

ATV: Hire an ATV in Banos and drive up the mountain. It is a 45 minutes fun ride. Price: USD$15

Where to stay in Banos

I can highly recommend Hostal Chimenea if you want something clean, quiet, relaxing and for USD$ 10 a night so it’s perfect. They even have a breakfast area on their rooftop where they serve amazing juices, fruits and breakfast.

When is the best time to visit the Banos swing

The End of the World Swing in Banos is an activity you can visit all year. The rain season is from Dec – March. That’s when we went, and it was not that bad but it still rains sometimes.

Why should the Banos swing be on my Bucket list ?

The Banos swing will give you an adrenaline rush. Enjoy the spectacular landscape while you swing at 2,660 meters. From the top you will also get a great view of the Tungurahua volcano. A must do when in South America.
